She’s having a hard time believing this. He’s so…put together-has she been bamboozled into thinking he knows…anything about fashion???
“…Yes of course it’s wrong. You’re telling me you have been alive many centuries, and built this whole city and been to a thousand and one events and not a single person has said ‘hey that’s not right for our dress code’ ????”
Very understandable for her confusion. He’s SOMEHOW managed to get through life with very little personal knowhow of dress codes. Though, true, very few have the gumption to question Stan to his face. That was usually reserved for his lovers. Those were the ones who could get away with it. And Anthea…your frustration is valid.

Oh he really doesn’t have anything to say. A man of few words now mute, she can’t help but just…stare for a hot minute, unable to stop her next train of thought from escaping from her agape mouth.
“I can fix you. I have to fix you, or you’re going to look more out of place on my arm than you already do.”
He doesn’t look THAT out of place? Well…depends who you ask, it’s definitely a very obvious age gap, but she can’t walk in and have people ask about her Floridian grandpa can she? No, she’s sure he has something that will do.
“Black tie means tux…I don’t think you have one, so let’s think-do you have anything, any suit with some kind of structure….wool, preferably black. Oh and take the shirt off, we need to steam it to fix the collar.”
There’s a double take and it stops her dead in her fancy shoes tracks. “Babe-the dress code is black tie. You’re wearing a suit from the mens warehouse. It doesn’t even fit right.”
He pauses, looks down at his tan suit and then right back at Anthea. He knew he was getting guffawed at but he really had no idea why. That’s a store that sells suits. What was the problem?
